English Access also runs classes to upgrade the English of South African second language speakers. There are 3 levels, lower, middle and high. When students enroll in the classes they are given a placement test and are then put into the appropriate level depending on their ability.
The classes are taught by our TEFL students (students who are learning to become teachers) under the close supervision of our TEFL trainer, Theresa Ohayon. The classes have two functions: Firstly to improve the English ability of local people and secondly to give our TEFL trainees practical experience. There is no charge for this course – by providing these lessons we aim to support our community.
The classes run every Saturday morning from 9am -11am 9am -11am. Tea and coffee is provided. New students can come along any Saturday morning and join in!
